This is a collection of the beautiful Flamboyant Tree in spring. There are many of them growing around Águas da Prata. Some are just starting to bloom and others are a putting on a really flamboyant show, as the name suggests.

Thanks for the comment. We have two very interesting trees by our house. The Jabuticaba (see the blog http://amazingjabuticaba.blogspot.com and a tree that I don't know the name of that we call "The Restaurant Tree" because both attract birds in large numbers. Jabuticaba will be updated soon with more pics and stories of birds eating berries.
I love your blogs also. The seed pods on the Persian Silk look a lot like many seed pods we see here in Brasil.
